My sonnet poem ‘Levels’

Written by Ashley Lopez

Stranger, you scare me… tell me what you want!
Why do you stare and bother like a fly?
Do you not have other people to taunt?
I don’t know you, so no need to spy!

Acquaintance, thank you for being present.
I roam the halls and always see your face.
You’re odd, at times… I wonder why you were sent.
Sometimes, I wish we didn’t need some space.

Friend, you brighten my day by being there
For me. You cheer, when everything shatters.
You know all about my secret affairs—
Our trust and reason is all that matters.

Family, it’s incredible that you don’t judge
And I know that you will never budge.
