Is Your Love Patient?

your love

Love doesn’t always promise
transparency
or honesty.
Love doesn’t always
put someone else first.
Love doesn’t guarantee
fulfillment
or unceasing happiness.
Love doesn’t always meet your
expectations.

Love isn’t always a feeling,
it’s also a choice.
You choose to love someone because
they’re your person, they’re your
sure thing,
maybe even
your safe haven.

Being in love is the wildest feeling:

It can feel aggravating and annoying one second,
maybe resisting an urge another second. It can mean
completely babying your partner
so much so
you wonder if they’re “adult” enough for you
or mature enough to handle you.

Often questioning whether they can manage the attitude,
the damn phases, the corks,
the everything in between.

Realizing they can accept it.
They choose to love you too.

Understanding that love is messy as fuck, that yes—
they are your partner and you two are growing together
so you have to accept their mistakes,
and their phases too.

Your love will not, in fact it cannot, look like
everyone else’s love. Your love is special,
your love is unparalleled,
unprecedented, and
exceptional.

Your love can look like—
kissing with your eyes open.
making love with your socks on,
living hours apart,
the inability to understand each other,
having different interests,
disagreeing on important topics,
navigating ugly stages
together.

Your love can look like
what you need it to look like,
but only the both of you should perceive it.

Your love is meant for two.
It’s not meant for outsiders,
it’s not meant to share, and it’s only meant
to please you
both.

Your love is remarkable, your love is yours.
Are you ready for the chaos?

Hola Ashly, interesante lo escrito sobre el amor, es verdad solo es de dos, siempre compartirlo todo, hablar cuando se presente una duda, no especular, ni sacar conclusiones sin antes conversarlo. Gracias
