learn something new

What are you going to do tomorrow? Is tomorrow the day you start realizing your goals?

Hi everyone, welcome back to Ashley Spills. Ashley, here. You can check out my other posts here.

I was talking to one of my best friends this week and I shared with her that I want to learn Mandarin Chinese and perfect my English grammar (because let’s face it, English language has sooo many rules and I always break them). I shared this with her because I know she will hold me accountable for it and call me out on it if I don’t do it. She also treasures new knowledge so I knew I’d have her support and understanding as to why I want to do this—she never questions learning something new.

Did I make a mistake in telling her? Hell no, because now I have to push myself to do it.

How are you moving forward to learn something new?

Do you know that feeling of having a billion ideas you want to push forth, but are slacking to do it? Even though you know you should do it… yup, that’s me with a whole bunch of things.

Anyways, that’s a lot of studying to do and many grammar rules to re-learn. The idea of it delights me—a lot—and also scares the crap out of me because my other-self is like: girl, chill you don’t gotta do all that. But, my true-self is like: girl, don’t chill, make a study plan and make it happen right now. I am going to listen to my true-self. I’ve been pretty excited about it, actually. So, tomorrow I’m going to begin researching sources, books, actually studying, and make a plan.

What are you going to do tomorrow?

What are you going to do tomorrow? Is whatever you’re doing beneficial? Are you going to learn something new? Or is it going to bring you joy?

I’m not trying to tell you to go learn a new language, rather, make sure you’re doing something you’re interested in. Something that makes you feel productive, happy, healthy, loved and thriving.

And yes, this includes finally relaxing after a long rewarding week of work! 🙂

Thanks for reading, xo.
